The Pender Pro Difference

Quality Lumber Makes the Fence

Most wood-fence problems start before the first post hole — with cheap, wet, mixed-grade lumber. We use straight, strong boards and set every post deep in concrete. Add our staining service and your fence gets a finish that sheds Georgia sun and rain instead of soaking it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wood Fence — Common Questions

What kind of wood is best for fences in Georgia?
Pressure-treated pine is the workhorse — strong, affordable, and widely available. Cedar costs more but resists rot naturally and looks great. For the CSRA's humidity and heat, we recommend pressure-treated lumber for budget builds and cedar for premium projects.
How long does a wood fence last?
A properly installed and stained wood fence typically lasts 15–20 years in the Augusta area. Posts set deep in concrete, hand-selected boards, and regular staining every 3–5 years are what makes that lifespan happen.
How often does a wood fence need to be stained?
Every 3–5 years for most fences in our climate, depending on sun exposure. A fence in full Georgia sun fades faster than one in shade.
Should I replace or repair my wood fence?
If more than about a third of the boards are warped, cracked or rotting, replacement is usually better value than repair. We'll inspect honestly and recommend the cheaper option when it works.
